That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ~ Romans 10:9
Patience is a virtue but we have none. I want it and I want it NOW.
Living for instant gratification. Nobody wants to wait. For anything. Or anybody.
Okay, I exaggerated. We all need to wait at many points of our lives. But what I’m conveying is a state of mind. We don’t want to wait, if we have our ways. Maybe that’s why we fallout with God.
Why do I have to wait on the Lord? Why can’t You answer my prayers NOW? How long more, Lord? Okay, I’m not gonna wait for You. I’m going my way. C’est la vie! Goodbye.
We all want instant answers to our prayers. We know God can provide that. But at times when you don’t hear from God immediately, that’s when disappointment enters and discouragement settles in.
How can we avoid that downward emotional spiral?
I don’t have the answer as to why some prayers are not answered immediately but one thing I find heartening is this: God answered the most pressing concern of our life in an instant! That is…
WE WERE SAVED THE MOMENT WE SAID THE SINNERS’ PRAYER!
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
That’s it? Just saying and believing and we’re saved? For eternity?
Wow. I don’t know about you but I’m floored?God answered the most critical matter concerning our life and death in a flash. No deferment. No wait time. No delay.
And how is that even possible?
Well, between Him and His Son, they’ve already settled the scores for us at the cross. Everything has been accomplished on our behalf. It is finished!
So if you are disappointed that your prayer has not been answered, I encourage you to remember this:
If God didn?t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn?t gladly and freely do for us?
